Are all dreams really false dissolving by dawn’s early light?
Should one wake up, or keep on dreaming?
Should one laugh at dreams, dismiss them?
or remember and treasure them?
Will other people laugh at them if we disclose them?
Are secrets of dreams really secret?
And hopes and expectations of new days, really reasonable?
A teardrop will always be with me at dawn…
Is this true or false ? - I wonder.
But there are times I wake up laughing,
the depth of total freedom seeking,
And other times when infinity of isolation,
and reality of a descending journey to the abyss below,
strike me hard.
Such cruel discovery of universal truths,
garnered with hopes and expectations of vanishing dreams,
remain always with me.
Often,
There,
In the shadows of early morning rainbows,
I wake up smiling but often crying, pondering,
I want to reach out to an indifferent Cosmos,
Embrace it and breach the gap of ignorance,
To substitute it with knowledge and beauty,
And share these - if I could only grasp them for myself,
in such vanishing moments of time.
Why is the freedom that I seek so hard to find
at this late hour of the journey? - I ask,
Where have the hopes and expectations gone?
Have all been lies of wasted dreams?
Is life a wasted dream?
and where will tomorrow night’s dreams really take me?
In sweet dizziness of life,
with repeated death lingering at the edge of my night,
I drown in such early morning thoughts,
pondering, anticipating, exploring.
Realizing that life passes quicker with every moment wasted,
I ask myself again,
How can we make our moments last longer,
eliminate spiritual waste?
How do we escape from wirlpools of ephemeral infelicity
to grasp dreams of new hopes and expectations
at late stages of this journey?
How can we escape from infinity when life is so precariously finite?
I drown in thoughts - the depth of freedom seeking.
But my aging body fights back,
in an unending see-saw of loosing battles.
Good Morning I say to those around me
How did you sleep they ask.
Fine I say - lying again.
I drink my coffee silently and start on yet another day.
Believing my lie,
Today will be better than yesterday, I say to myself,
My dreams have told me so .........
