If everything hadn't happened so early,
If history had taken a different course,
If I hadn't been abandoned so young,
when I was full of passion and love.
When songs had melody, and flowers color.
When stars for me had a different meaning.
In my heart I know,
If , and only if,
If everything had not been taken from me,
If the sun had not been snatched from my horizon,
While beauty was taking root in my soul,
While poems had music and life had structure,
While love, and hope, and trust prevailed,
In my heart I know,
If , and only if,
If you came back,
At the exact appointed hour,
when all the spears of pain
Had not pierced my broken heart,
When all visions of hope,
had not been lost,
In my heart I know,

The dreams would not
have died.
